the dealership i work at has a 99 F150 XLT supercab 2wd styleside or stepside whatever it is. it has 72,000 miles with a 5spd. i can get it for 8,800. is that a good price for the truck? another thing is that i've never had a car with a 5spd. my dad since after a week or two i'd have it down no problem, but i'm kinda worrried. is it really pretty easy after a while and how are they compared to an automatic? thanks

I was offered 7100 on trade in and my truck is a 99 F150 xlt with 75470 miles. it has pw, pdl, pwr driver seat, cc, tilt, 60/40 bench w/ console, upgrade cd, chrome wheels, 5.4 V-8 and it is in good condition visually. I've heard good things about this truck but I have had a good share of probs. I would goto Kelley Blue Book on the internet and look up retail which is what a dealership pays and a wholesale what a private sale or dealership would give on a trade in. Not many other people have had as many probs as I have so maybe try to get a vehicle history with the vin number from a Ford dealer. I have heard of most of these trucks going 175miles with little probs other than minor maint. Good Luck, just my two cents

oh yeah, definatly get VHR (Vehicle history report) but other than that, get up under it make sure its never been raged out, check engine for leaks and amke sure everything is square.. but i'd say go for it if all that looks good. My buddy has a green f-150 just like that and its lasted him 234,000 miles so far and still goin, so great trucks..

thanks for the adivce i really appreciate it. i think as long as i can put down a pretty good down payment i'm gonna go for it. my mom ran the vin number (she works at the dealer too) and it only came up with minor problems that were fixed. its good to know theres a place like this with so many others that can help you. if i get it i look foward to someone helping me with some mods for it. thanks again.
