this has been bothering the shit out of me for a while. the truck used to be a 302 i put a 351w in it two years ago. started getting a miss about two months ago tried plugs wire to no avail.recentlly its been bacfireing on startup and after driving it for a long time it will bacfire and stall if I take it above 2000 rpm. last weekend it died on my gf i found a hu8ge vacum leak and plugged it thought that was it till it started again yeterday any ideas??

i had a 81 ford a while back that was doing about the same thing. all i did was change plugs, wires, air cleaner and sprayed carb cleaner. whatever was wrong with mine, one of these things fixed it. but you might want to check your timing or distributor as for what i was told.

a temperary fix if it did skip time, like maybe just if its only one notch out, is if you loosen the holding screw and turn your distributor it will run a lot smoother until you get time to get the timing looked at. but make sure you mark exactly where it was to begin with in case it doesnt work, or that thats not the problem. i was told to try that with mine but it turned out not to be my problem.
