When i take off (normal driving) my car will go up to about 5,000 rpms and i will only be going forward about 10 miles an hour, but it will finaly catch and i can start drving normal untill i shift it will do the same thing in every gear. i was told i need a new clutch, if thats the case what all do i need to replace exactly. For example do i just need to replace the pressure plate, clutch disc or the throwout bearing or all 3 please help me!

It is a good thing to replace all of it. I just had my clutch replaced about 4 or 5 months ago and all that was wrong was the throwout bearing but my mechanic said best to replace it all sence its all taken apart. it cost me like six hundred and some change just for the parts, plus $250.00 for labor. So its is quit spendy. Hope that helps

I just had my pressure place, clutch disc and throwout bering replaced yesterday at my local transmission shop. They also resurfaced my flywheel (which I would highly recommend doing) and replaced my clutch fork (they said mine was worn) for a grand total of $681.00 which includes labor. They offered me a standard factory clutch (which I got) and a more heavy duty clutch for an extra $90.00.
It's a M6 1997 Z28 and it's like I have a whole new car, it feels SOOO much better. It was doing the same thing as yours just not as bad.
