just resort to drugs and parties. Everyone knows colleges dont care about your senior year because everyone gets lazy in the last year.
j/k...
look dude. I know this means nothing at all to you, but if you dont get good grades now, you will regret it later. Unless you don't plan on going to college. I dont care that I only got a 2.3 gpa because it doesnt matter. If you plan on going to college, then don't slack. The better you do the less you have to pay. As you get older you'll realize that procrastination is SO stupid. It always catches up to you later. Do what you know needs to be done without even thinking about it. Just fuckin do it. I regret dropping out of college after 1/2 semester because I would have an associates degree by now. But I have nothing. If I could go back, I would skip all the times I.... nevermind, I wouldnt. I dont know dude. I've had a lot of fun, and I'm still gonna accomplish my goals soon enough. Just don't fuck around and ruin any chances you might have for scholarships. At least do a decent job. Look back at anything you regret not doing, and realize that education is a majorly important part of your life, and going to the movies, or hanging out with your friends, or playing PS2 for a few hours is something that CAN wait. Your high school education will not. Dont fuck around when it comes to grades. Just do the homework and play later. You went and did it.. you came on here and asked for advice, dont have the nerve to ignore it.

thanks rick, i do plan on going to Uni, but as of yet i have no info on courses or scores needed for entry, (for some reason they bring the info book out in may, not January)
most of my classes are going fine, but english is crap. i try as hard as i can, but still get shit marks on essays, so i listen to the teacher's advise, and still get shit marks.
now i'm looking at just doing my best, and hoping that's good enough.

Just look at the janitor in your high school. Or the guy that cleans the toilets. If you're still not motivated, well you're pretty much fucked.

I couldn't agree more.
I slacked off in high school. My parents told me that if I didn't have a 3.0 GPA then I couldn't drive. I was seventeen and a half before my stubborn ass decided top get my grades good enough to get my license and drive. Then I only kept my grades good enough to drive. I only did what I had to do. Then my junior year I realized that if I didn't bust my ass this was going to hurt me the rest of my life. I managed a 4.0 that year and my senior year as well. However, I only managed to pull my cumulative GPA up to a 2.4. Now here I am 24 years old and I am trying to get into a university to go into a software engineering degree. I just handed in my application last week and now I am sweating it out to see if they will accept me. The only redeeming factor is that I had A+ grades in every single technical class I had. I also have two very embellishing letters of recommendation one being from my engineering tech teacher.
I can only hope it is enough. It wasn't that I didn't understand the classes in high school. I could have graduated with a 4.0 cumulative GPA if I had taken it seriously from day one.
Work hard now or you may be working a lot harder for the rest of your life.

It's Called "Senioritis". You're not alone.

I had this senioritis last year. It was fun while it lasted but not worth it...I got good grades but only because I took pointless classes. Having to go to community college to get into a university should be a good motivator 'cause they BLOW!!!

Your motivation should be wanting to make it somewhere in life, Dropping out or slacking isnt going to help you in the long run. You can make it, just stick to it.

Why does everyone make the assumption that you have to have great grades to get into college?
Just do your work. It's high school, it's not that difficult.

I had senioritis too, and I still managed a 3.5gpa. High school is way too easy.

I have college Senioritis. Trust me, its much worse. What is wrong with your papers? I would try to fix the problem with your writing before you start college. I was really bad at writing until I started college. My writing has gotten pretty good because I have done so much of it.

The results you get now will determine pretty much all your options for the next 2-10 years.
