Hey, i just got a B18 LS engine out of a 94 teg with 52K miles. I am planning on turboing it. Can i keep the stock interneals are will it blow. I am not planning on running a huge amount of boost just around 8-10 PSI. If not what will i have to buy to make it last?

actually at 8-10ps is only around mid 200whp. your block can take that, just get it tuned good. but if you have the extra money and want insurance then get pistons because ringlands are the weak link

yeas...improper or lack of tuning will lead to detonation...but it is in ur best intrest to build up the motor while it is out...turboing, done right, isn't cheap but well worth the extra $$$

I agree, while it's out go ahead and build it.

You will be fine as long as you stay below that 10psi mark.

But you know how boost is addicting.

:swear: Kinda a vague statment wouldn't you say?! You could easily blow your motor boosting 10psi!

actually on a stock ls, i find most people hit the 300whp mark at around 14psi. but also is a vague statement depending on the turbo he is using.

Yeah I too have seen/heard of some good numbers on stock LS motors. Then again the people also did some really good tunning. Also like CivicKiller said a small turbo at 10 psi and a big turbo at 10psi are really different so it depends on what turbo he is using.

jus make sure ur able to keep up the fuel demand cause most of the time motors blow on a turbo is it runs to lean....
