What is it about the Ecipse GSX that makes it as good as it is? Is it the AWD? the turbo? the handling? the speeds it can go? What is it?

well AWD gives you awesome acceleration, handling, it is the turbo and the speeds it can reach. A GSX is a really nice car you tinker with. I would love to have one but they cost a few $$$

The Gsx is an all around genius of a car. Its got the sleek looks, awsome speed, and amazing handling all in one. They rip off the line like only a AWD can. I think the 2g's interior has all the luxuries of a lincoln to boot. A GSX is simply the full package....

Not much more you can add to that.

The car is just amazing, too bad there aren't many of 'em left around.

I'm still wishing they made AWD Spyders. Though an LSD can help out, there's nothing like AWD. I got a quote for $9500 to install a GSX differential in my spyder (same chassis frame as GSX, so it is do-able). It's already been done before. Can't wait to graduate and blow all my dough on my DSM. With AWD, I'd be a lot more cocky on the road than with a FWD, lol.

I agree with everything but the speed it can reach.... everything I have heard when in comparison to a GS-T is the top speed and accelaration at higher speeds can't compare to a GS-T but it more than makes up for it off the line.

Thanks for all the responses. They helped alot. Now what is this about it can't go as fast at the top as the other one? Is it just a certain models or because of something else? Thanks again.

GSX=from a stop
GS-T=from a roll

Those two lines summarize my feelings on dsms. As helliviknow said, they have some real nice options. Leather, decent sound, power everything, AC and heat, cruise, electric seat adjustment, sunroofs, and more. Granted I'm ripping all that stuff off my car, anyway, it's still nice to have those stock options.

The GSX has more driveline mass to turn...more resistance so higher speeds it lags a little...as to where the GS-T is FWD and has the less resistance...
GSX can KILL off the line and doesn't have to worry about wheel spin as to where the GS-T just sits and has what's known as wheel hop... cmon all ya gs-t owners ya know EXACTLY what i'm talkin about :grinyes:

Trying to launch the fwd dsms is a pain in the ass without some really good radials. So yes, AWD will rip ass off the line. The gs-t's came with a speed limiter at 130, so unless you get that disabled, the gsx will be able to go faster.
Here is the conversion for the gst-awd. I would never ever pay 9g's to put in that damn differential. Hell for 9 g's you can sell the fwd and get a nice lo mileage AWD. But here is the write up

The conversion I was talking about was specifically a 2G Spyder to AWD, not a coupe to AWD (though that thread is really interesting, I can't wait to see the results!). I need to do more reading on it, but from what I understand, it is "easier" to do an AWD conversion in a spyder since the GSX and spyders share the same frame or chassis...? Not sure if my logic is correct, let me dig for the AWD Spyder I saw on cardomain...
