What does everyone think about their cavalier? List the pros and cons about your car, and things you wish could be better.

I have a 2001 Z24 with the GM supercharger package and i love it. Handles well, rides decent, and tons of power to spare. If i could change one thing it would be the interior, needs a little pizzaz and to remove the squeaks.

uhh.... I love the handling ( upgrades Eibach Prokit and KYB AGX), Its pretty peppy for an OHV N/A. Things i don't like. My wheel bearings in front a shot right now, so i am going to say that!

I have a 94 RS 2.2 litre all stock that I have owned for many years. Still rides, drives, and looks like new. I love this car.

Pros: Ample power for me.
Good on gas.
Paid for long ago.

Cons:Can't think of any.

What is up? My old 94 2.2L is fairly quick(for econo 4cyl), revs quick thanks to the stock roller cam. At least it is able to keep up with traffic with ease. Is the new 2.2L lower Hp/torque than the older design?

ROFL!

I have a 2002 Cavy LS Sport Coupe, Automatic (I got the crappy SFI 2200 Sunfire Engine, my biggest complaint. What I'd do for the Ecotec)

Pro's.
-Pretty gas efficient. Which is nice with gas prices avg. about $2.57/gal here in Southern California
-Huge availability of selection for aftermarket mods
-Looks pretty decent stock if you strip off all the badges
-Comfortable interior

Cons.
-Lacks power. ALthough I've recently discovered that manually shifting an automatic, I can beat stock base eclipse's. Teehee
-Pretty low quality interior, although comfortable cheap interior
-I think the car was made for a woman, not enough room inside

It's my first 'new' car, so I couldnt be picky, building credit sucks. Although I do have a lot of complaints, anytime I drive a family members focus, I kiss my cavy and apologize for making fun of it.

Wow. My old '94 2.2L is 150HP. I guess that is the difference.

It is all stock. I read the rating somewhere. A quick search I just found this page that states 120hp http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/Used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2009/act/usedcarreviewshowall/ I suppose it could be an increase in torque getting me off the line??? It shows the V6 at 140hp, maybe that is what I read??? Remember- I am retarded :bananasmi: Perhaps the previous owner put in a chip. I have had the entire top end apart and did not see any non-stock parts. I do have to say it is a very jumpy little car with very tight throttle response.

I also have a 1989 2.0L rated at 88hp-it SUCKS. It doesn't even get as good MPG as the 94. I guess because it is ALWAYS floored just to move.

I haven't posted here in so long!

I like my 04 LS Sport Coupe! I got it because it had everything, the sunroof, power mirrrors, power windows, CD, cruise, XM Satelite, OnStar, spoiler, everything I wanted! It's an automatic. I could have gotten one with a standard trans but that one didn't have the sunroof. Mine is also orange, I fell in love with it when I saw it! It's comfortable and FUN to drive!

My only complaint is there are a few dash board squeeks and one squeek coming from somewhere to the right of me. Haven't figured that one out.

(2002 OHV Cavalier 4 door 5 speed manual) Could have used better quality plastic for the interior. Seats on the base model aren't supportive but the cloth material holds up very well. Other than that I think the Cavalier is the absolute best small car for the money. Very dependable and fuel efficient. Mine gets no less than 30 mpg. average and has done as well as 39 mpg. on a trip. No problems so far. Recently did a front brake job with rotors (40 bucks tax included gotta love domestic parts prices).

1997 Z24 with the 2.4 Twin Cam, Automatic.

I love the way the seats in the Z feel, nice and stiff and very supportive where it counts. I also so very love the way that most kids around here think that just because the deck lid says "Cavalier" that its going to be a slow ass car. Then you mash the gas and feel the 150 HP come to life, take that, ricer!

Down side - It is a cheaply made interior as far as plastics go. But the body on the stock Z24 is amazing. Nice, clean, with some elegant body package that just sets it off right. Oh yeah, and you gotta dig the fact that us Z owners get that lovely Red Bowtie.

2001 Chev Cavy z-24

Pros. Quick little piece. Rides rather well and pretty decent on gas. doesn't look too bad either. Pretty cost effective. and it's not too hard to work on.

cons. Tinny engine noise (I'm guessing PS pump or Timing chain tensioner) The interior plastic dash rattles sometimes. it's worse when it's cold. Could use more HP. Seats are rough on the lower back even if they're leaned back. they're hard.

94 standard. had for 8 yrs. still like that it's easy to drive. i've even had other people that drive my car say it's easy to drive(steering, etc.) i also love the fact that i pay $18 tax on it every year and my insurance and everything else on it is fairly cheap to fix(since we cavy owners do soooooooo much of that.lol)

I hate that the fact that it's a 2nd gen and not a lot of modding parts for these cars. if it were ONE year newer, i wouldn't have this problem!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself! I like the 2nd gen 4dr look opposed to the 2dr, the rear window area doesn't look right, a little custom bodywork and it will look better than any aftermarket part, since it's 100% original!

As for performance mods, I guess we will have to take our parts off and engineer our own parts. Our Throttle Body is 52mm stock, which can be bored to 59mm MAX, I'm thinking "just 7mm more? Why not 10mm!" If I had someone fabricate a larger TB that can be fabbed to 62mm, would be my first original mod. I'd be the only 2nd gen 2.2 with a 62mm TB. Then I'll get those Venom Injectors I had ordered-waited-cancelled 2 years ago. I'm guesing a around 135HP, then a little bottle to push it up to 150.

The only thing I hate about my cavy, it's not a 5-speed, not nearly as fun to drive. I've been wanting to change it over, which I can do for less than $500, but I can't decide, I like the length of first gear.

I was beside a VW Golf the other day, and had no idea he wanted some, but I had it in first anyway. Light turns green, I go, notice he's staying 3ft in front of me, then I floor it, I see him shift to second, fall back a foot, he hits third and - goodbye, he fell back quick, when i hit second he was 10ft behind me. I think I'm gonna stick with the auto for that reason, he had to shift twice before I hit second, those precious tenths of a second.
