My car has about 106k on her so i thought that i'd go ahead and give her a tuneup. Oil and filter change, new air filter, rotate tires ect. I stopped by autozone to pickup a new PCV. well my car has a different PCV than the one listed in the book. i took it back and showed them the one in my car and they looked it up. It's from a ford! it fits but theres an extra hose fitting that i plugged. Anyway there could be problems because of this?

If you want it to last and run perfectly, replace your PCV with a delco part. I recommend going back to the dealer for anything remotely smog related instead of the aftermarket one size fits all. A PCV valve is under 10 bucks and can really have an effect on how a car runs. just my 2c.

Boy, you just get back. Don't tell anyone where your going. NOW you want to yell at the pour guy cause he didn't list the year of his car? :nono:

Well I know my way works. Done it the same way on All three of my GP's. The 1997 and the 2 1998's.
I have never tried his way. But knowing John, he's way more then likely does too.

well see heres the problem. who ever had the car before me cut the hose leading to the pcv inorder to ghetto rig it to my manifold. So there is no going back unless i i buy a replacement hose / fitting to replace the cut one. I guess i can find a junked one somewhere but is it really worth the trouble?

Have some pictures?
If something is rigged, there's always a way to put it back.

Heres the pics. Also there is a weird bend in the tube leading up to the PCV. Is that krink normal?

No the krink isn't normal but if it isnt too badly restricted it should be OK. I looked under the hood of my 01 SE. It appears that the straight piece of soft rubber connecting to your PCV Valve is in place of a rubber elbow. The correct PCV valve is straight if it is the same as my 01. Then a rubber elbow onto the rigid tube. If your tube has been shortened or broken off so that an elbow from the dealer does not work, just go to your friendly big box auto parts store and usually they have some water pump bypass hoses that have a 90 degree bend and about 4 in. of hose on either side of the bend. Find one the right diameter to go on your tube and correct PCV and trim to fit. The extra length will get you to your tube which I am guessing has the end whacked off.

Fyi the extra fitting on your ford PCV valve is application specific and needs to be capped if not used.

Thanks. The extra fitting is capped. It acctually came with a plug for it.
Must be one of those one size fits all type deals. Anyway ill most likely just splice the hose after the bend in order to delete it and get the elbow bend to plug into the original PCV. Thanks for the time and help.
