My dad has been looking at shifters and finally got a MGW today. He was looking at a Pro 5.0 but saw in his most recent 5.0 Magazine a good review of the MGW. He did some research and a whole lot of people are very pleased with their MGW shifters. There are several out there though that think the Pro 5.0 can't be beat. I'd like to hear your guy's thoughts.

Have never got to use an MGW shifter and since they don't make one for a Tremec yet I don't see me using one anytime soon. Have heard a lot of good reviews on it.
I think all short shifters work the same none is really better than the other some just have longer/shorter throws. Always been a Pro5.0 guy cause no one has made one wit a shorter throw yet.... but that is also why a lot of people don't like the Pro5.0 they think the throw is too short.
I think you'll be happy wit the MGW it's quality is good and unless you have used a Pro5.0 you won't think the throw isn't short enough.

Compared to my friends pro 5.0 ...I'd have to definitely say my MGW (blue handle) is far superior. In the way it sits, feels, and shifts. I think the shifts are just as short if not shorter. And, I think they're firmer. Which to me is a plus. I wouldn't buy anything but MGW from now on.

I think it depends on the person, I love my Tri-ax shifter from Steeda. It has the "feel" that I am looking for.

I've got the Pro 5.0 shifter and I love it. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I use a pro 5.0 with a steeda Tri-Ax handle, and I really really like it. It's not notchy like a ripper, and the tri-ax handle puts the knob in a perfect spot. I'm sure the tri-ax base is really similar to a pro 5.0.

Just to update everybody the shifter is in and I took it out for a drive. I must say I freakin love it. The shifts are shorter and much easier. Down shifting from 5th to 4th is so much easier with no fear of accidentally going into 2nd. MGW was also right about how I'll never miss 3rd gear again.
In fact dampachi I think we have the same shifter. I'm agree with you though and if anybody wants a shifter I'm telling them MGW.
