Anyone considered putting a filter on the power steering system to extend the life? I'm not sure if any of you have had trouble with the power steering but the guys that use their Tacomas off road have burned out pumps. One solution that seems to be getting a lot of attention is to put a filter on the line.

I may do this just to help keep the system clean. Anyone else done this? Seems really easy to do, just splice it in with 3/8" fuel line into the rest of the system.

After you install the filter won't you have to bleed the system?

Bleeding the system shouldn't be necessary. The reservoire will allow any air bubbles to escape into it.

Since I have a hydraulic winch.

What size are the power steering lines? 3/8?
