Painted a Porsche Boxster body TS-14 Black. Thought - great no window trim to do.. But I thought, looks a little - well wrong.

So, I did them, FLAT BLACK..

Looks good, so.. Don't be lazy with black paint jobs.. Paint the trim flat black.. Glad I did, as it just finishes it off... It's not in your face, but look close and you can see it.. Semi Gloss would have been no point, as you would not have seen it.

Oh - and the body justs needs one last fine compound polish to remove the masking tape residue...

Just check out my shine..!! My best yet..!!

Looks good, you bring up a good point about the window trim on black cars. I'll have to keep that one in mind since I have a couple of models I plan to paint black as well. Good tip.

Looks great. Cutting corners will end up looking like you did exactly that. The contrast between gloss and matt is very effective.

Did you manage to find the rest of the Boxter?

I thought it would look nice, but I wasn't too sure before I did it. I actually got the idea from 360spider? or somewhere.. He has a website with some wonderful models, and he did some trim in flat black.

Turned out OK in the end. And yep. I found a new kit on ebay, but it's got a day left to go. I'm the only bidder so far, and it's currently at £2.00.. It's complete, but even if I end up paying £10 for it, must be worth it to get the full kit. I'm doing OK with this build..!! Would be nice to complete it. I need decals, wheels and some underside parts.. Kit on ebay has these, so fingers crossed..!!

But when I did a clone of my '94 9c1, I painted the trim on the real car gloss black along with the rest of the car (just didn't mask it off...) so the 1:24 version still looks accurate :D

I had this idea before, just never painted a car black yet. It dose add a toch of more realism to the car.
