My driver side power window is stuck down. Regulator is fine, so I figure its either a bad motor or bad switch. If I remove the switch, can anyone tell me if I can bridge any of the wires on the wiring harness the will trigger the window to roll up (IF its the switch and not the motor..)?
Thanks in advance...

its the switch most likely. I have the same problem on my 2000 alty although with enough force on the button the window comes up fine. Try taking off the panel and finding out what the problem is.

It was the switch. Had the dealer fix it. Same as you it worked on and off until finally it went down and never came back up. I took it apart, but you can't get to the contacts without destroying it. The switch from the dealer would have been ~$86 but they have a no return policy for electrical parts, so I figured I'd rather eat the $30 (total work was $116) than the $86 if I bought the switch and it turned out to be the motor. Any case, the question still stands, since I'm sure we would all like to know if we can raise the window without the switch...
