Sunroof conversion- power to manual

I just found out that the sunroof motor on my 94 Golf is going bad. I can't find any used motors and I am not paying for a new one from the dealer. I was wondering if anyone has heard of replacing the sunroof motor with a manual hand crank? I'm guessing that I would need a new dome-light/crank cover (or assembly?). If anyone has any information on how or if this can be done I would greatly appreciate it.

Go on ebay and contact user "lennyspumpkin" and ask for item (you may need to provide VW part #). They will list it with a "buy it now" option. They are a huge VW salvage yard specializing in VW's. Great reputation. I bought a ECU off of them for my Golf, worked great, fast shipping too!
