Why Won't It start??! 87 Legend

I have recently purchased this 1987 four door 2.5 Liter Acura Legend. Upon purchasing it very cheap I knew that the car started but the engine was knocking. I am not very familar with foreign cars, but wanted to take it on as a project. I did not want to do any further damage to the engine so I had it towed to my house.
A few days later I went out to start it up and move it and could not get it to turn over. Thought it may just be a battery issue after charging the battery and testing it I found it to be good. I then checked all the fuses and replaced a couple under the hood.
At this point the car is extremely close to turning over.
I then decided to check for spark and I do have spark. The car has about 2 gallons of gas in it, but I am wondering if it could be the fuel pump..

Does anyone have any other ideas??? Please help!!

Well I was hoping that somebody would atleast give me their opinion on this issue, but I guess people just like to look. I just removed the alternator, which I found was not the problem and now I have the starter out and am going to get it tested...Still no start.
If anyone else has an opinion please share.

Hey man, I would say check the fuel relay under the steering console. I have an 88 legend coupe and it was doing the same thing. it was to the point to where it wouldnt start in hot weather, and it would crank forever without starting...not sure if it is in the same location in an 87, but that sounds like the problem to me. well, it fixed mine atleast :)
