Well, I took my cluster out of my 92 last night, after removing the two screws to take off the cover, then two more screws for the cluster, after that it popped right out. After removing eight screws, the needles and face itself came off the cluster very easy with a few tugs on each side.
Your 99 is more than likely different, but maybe similar in the way it splits apart.

thats the thing ive had my gauge cluster out before but never had the needles out of it... But they are talking on here that the needles on the 00 and ups dont come out without messing up the cluster.. my question is if this is true i would like to know how to put the white face gauge on without messing it up....

Spin them upward towards the top like the gas at full the speedo at 55 the temp at 260 or whatever and the tack at 3500 and then carfully slide the white over them. putting the needles through the holes. and then make sure they all go back to where they were so if the car was off when u unplugged then all back to 0 and the gas at emty.

Be extremely careful moving the needels. Don't move them more than you have to, or be rough on them. I messed up my old guages putting white face guages in. My gas didn't read correct when I was done.

You could just fill your tank, drain the anit-freeze and water out, get the rpms to 3500 will running 55 mph down the road. LOL gooc luck. Let me know how it goes.

i would love to have them in but it seems like the odds are stacked way against you that it will actually read correctly after putting the gauges in. and really it just doesnt seem worth it. white gauges are cool but are they worth f'ing up knowledge of how much gas is in the tank

I was going to put on a gunmetal looking overlay just a trim difference not white face gauges but then i noticed that the damn plastic face is glued to the casing of the gauges so how can i get this off to put on a overlay or change to white face gauges?????????

no you dont have to remove anything from the gauges
just the dash and turn the needles up
and put the white ones over the original gauges
just be gently with em
