at first i thought it was limp mode, because at it feels like it stops the spark at 3k in first gear, but the more i drove it and tried different things i'm not sure what it is now.. alright, if i am running 1/4 throttle the car runs fine, idles and starts fine, no CEL..no code, i changed the fuel filter, i tried adjusting the timing, new plugs/wires/cap/rotor but the car still will just lose all power when i'm over 1/4 throttle under load. it revs fine up to redline but as soon as it's under load, anythign over 1/4 throttle just dies, i can cruise just fine down the road at 1/4 throttle all the way to 5th so it runs and drives still.. any thoughts/ideas as to what to try next?
it's a 94 del sol si.. all stock absolutely no mods.
i know this is 4g site but i figured i'd get more things to try in here.. plus i have 3 4g's and the sol so 3 out of four aint bad ;)

how did you wire it up, did you convert to obd1. Are you still running w/ your injector resistor box?

the engine ran perfect in another car before i swapped it into mine.. when i got the car the previous owner had run it out of oil and spun a bearing.. i replaced the block and head with an engine from a friends car that ran great.
could the ecu be telling it to cut the ignition when you try to go faster than a certain speed? is the timing advanced when you hit the gas? could the dizzy be the problem? i'm almost certian it's an ignition and not fuel/comp problem.. when i floor it in first it shoots right up to 3k and then it slows down like the ignition was turned off... let off the accelerator and it backfires once and runs normally.. which leads me to believe that it's shooting fuel in there but just not igniting it
i'm thinking either bad dizzy or bad ecu.. seems like i changed nearly everything else spark-related.. any thoughts?

check your timing when someone is reving the engine, the timing mark should fall back towards the fire wall, but you sould be able to see it up to 4000 rpm or so. make sure the timing mark isn't going crazy. just watch it w/ a timing light and see what the timing mark is actually doing. But if it does some really wierd jumping around then i would start at the dizzy and go from there. inspect the timing belt good to and make sure it has all it's teeth and what not and maybe the tention on the timing belt too. But i am not sure exactly where to tell you to start but thats where i'd start.
