Alright, so I took my jaguar, built with superb quality and craftsmanship, back to carmax because it has an oil leak that stinks everytime I drive. This is the second time I had to take it back. Well, anyways, they tell me they will have to send it to the dealer to fix it instead of having their mechanics work on it. Sounds good to me, they'll get paid by carmax, so they'll do it right. Anyways, because it would take a few days, they needed to supply me with another car to drive. Last time, I got a 02 Jetta (looks cool, but totally boring interior), and this time they gave me an 02 Galant. Well, I had stayed up the whole night before, so after they give me the galant, I go home and crash out for a power nap. I wake up later and check my voice mail b/c I had a missed call, and the message went something like this...
"Um, Mr Murta, we have some bad news. I'm going to need you to come back to carmax, because when we gave you that car, the guy pulled the car from the wrong lot, and we gave you a car that has already been sold. So if you can, please return the car as soon as possible and we can give you another one."
lmaooooo... so I'm drivin around in some poor bastards car that he JUST bought, and treating it like a rental... I would be so pissed if they did that to me. Who knows, maybe they did... naw they wouldnt loan a jag... Anyways, so I had to take that car to work, then drive it back home (because it was too late to return the car that day), then drive it back to the dealer the next day. I could just imagine if I was involved in an accident, or if the guy wanted to pick up his car before I got it back... Imagine the guy that has to break the news to him..
"ummmm yeah... about your car....."
lmao... what a royal fuck up.

I remember reading a story on AF about someone who worked at a Ford Dealership. Basically an old couple bought a new Grand Marquis, and he was bringing it around from the back of the dealership to run it through the carwash, and on the way there, the brakes on the BRAND NEW Grand Marquis failed, and he jumped a curb with it, and ran it into a ditch, and totalled it, after they already BOUGHT it.

I imagine the dealer's insurance would cover that one. but nonetheless, :owned:

That's funny, but sucks for the person who bought that car. I don't think I would ever do business with carmax. Everytime I've gone in there , there salesmen seem even shadier than other car salemen, and seem clueless on a lot of shit.

Carmax: buys by using Black Book (wholesale)
Sells by using blue book plus 2K.
They do sell good cars, but their sales people are somewhat unknowledgeable (and are required to quote from the script on the computer screen)

ROFLMAO!!! I LOVED his excuse, that shit had me rolling...
"uuh, I hit a dog..."
If they'd have made a fuck up that bad, I'd have had a LOT of fun with the. They'd see me doing power slides with my e-brake in donughts (rounded off with a floating alice in a handbasket with a sing sing snatch)... Just right there in front of the dealership. If they bitch, what can they do, for one. Two? shit man... who cares?! lol their fuck-up. I' dhave kept that bitch for DAYS just to make em sweat.

"Hey, sorry, actually I can't return it yet, I took a trip out of town and won't be back until next week. If you want though, you can send somebody down to the florida keys to pick up the car and drop me off a new one. Along with a booklet of free gas slips so I don't tell anyone."

Lol, I would feel bad for the guy who bought the car you have though, and would deffinently take the fun out of tearing the car up that some guy owns, not some heartless company that just wants your money. Anyway, how much was you Jag, and how old are you? You must have a NICE income, or live with your parents :iceslolan :iceslolan

the jag is 330 a month, 1559$ insurance for 6 mos. I paid the ins. in full. Dont live with parents anymore. Im 20.
I definitely treated the car a bit better once I learned it was someone elses. The Saturn L200 I have now though... muahaha... I been rippin it up. I laid down some rubber around these couple of curves near my house. I was thinkin about getting pictures of the tire marks. Maybe I will. Maybe I wont. The L200 is not ridiculously slow. Its faster than the 02 Jetta and the 02 galant. Sounds meaner too.

Totally incorrect. I used to work for Carmax. I bought peole's cars from them as well as sold cars. They CONSISTENTLY are way below Bluebook.
I can assure you that who-ever was responsible for this mess-up is in deep kimchee.
