I was told some time back that you can clean fuel injectos by yourself at home per the following
1.Connect a spray cleaner bottle full of injector cleaner to the PCV valve line.
2. Start the engine and pump the injector cleaner into the system.
3. Keep pumping until the billowing smoke stops.
The guy said thats what the do for the $60-$100 Job at the shop but I don't know, that sounds too easy. Can this damage MAP or O2 sensors. Any input would be appreciated.

That won't clean your injectors.
That will clean intake manifold, and the valves and if it is not burned up to quickly a bit of of the pistons.
If you can to really clean the injectors, some mechanics will have a hose the hooks up the the fuel line which hooks up the a pressurize can of cleaner. They pull the fuel pump fuse, start it up and then the car run off the cleaner.
If you haven't been running a bottle of cleaner in your gas tank (a couple times a yr), and you have 100k on your injectors then the method above is the way to go.
