Just recently purchased a contour from a dealer, 4 cyclinder, automatic. Seemed to be in good shape, yet these are my two noticeable problems:
1.) When idleing, the car gets pretty shaky. My whole arm on the steering wheel is visable moving a lot. Why such a rough idle, and what could this be?
2.) Starting the ignition always requires giving it gas while turning the key. It will NEVER start without giving it fuel first.
I was told these two problems could be related, and currently the car is at a Ford shop having a Idle Air Controller put in.
Does anything think that this will solve the problem... plus for the IAC they are charging 330 for parts and labor. Am I getting screwed!!? I was told the part is only 80 bucks.

for prob #2 check your fuel filter. and use some STP fuel injection cleaner or a brand band.
