It is the o2 sensor...

Last night i decided to see if i could hit atleast 80mph. So i went to this sub highway which is like a mile long and i just gunned it. Damn thing actually reached 90 something miles an hour!!!! Probably not impressive but i've been tryin to figure out why my car couldn't go over 65mph. Btw the check engine light didn't even come on either and that was under hard accelaration. The car was also very stable, it shocked the hell out of me. So my question is where is it located ( i probably already know just can't remember) and how much does it cost?

I don't know exactly where it is on your car but usually they are either right before or right after the cat, but sometimes they put them right after the manifolds. Not exactly sure, crawl under there and look for it, your car may even have two of them i dunno. As for cost call a local parts store and ask them, hell they can even tell you if it has more than one and probably where it's located.

Now that i think about it i beleive it is on the manifold... yeah it is on the manifold and it acts a fool when driving for a period of time. Is it easy to change, 89 where are you (need.. help.. bad.. :banghead: )

The O2 sensor is on /in the driver side exhaust manifold. change it while it is still warm, cost about $25.
It is highly doubtful that an O2 sensor would prevent your car from going over 65, more likely a fuel delivery/ spark problem. And you shouldn't get a check engine light at WOT, even if the O2 is bad, the ECM goes into Open Loop operation at WOT, ignores most sensors except MAF, TPS and knock.

So after driving for a period of time (a couple of hours) the fuel delivering system can get clogged? It does kinda feel that way. When at WOT, while that light is on, the car feels like it ain't recieving any gas, thus the bogging at speeds. Fuel filter maybe? I put new plugs in it bosch platnium 4(i need to change over to ac delco) and they are in the snug.
