well the sony deck would be giving it 26rms or 52 max. You have to tells us how much the amp puts out and just add it up, if its to much turn down your amp a bit so u dont blow your speaks

it's an facotry OEM amp that comes with the car. the oem speakers are rated at 40w each from the spec at bottom of them. does that mean oem amp puts out 160w/rms total ? the tech guy from cruntchfield.com told me that my oem speakers were working at 2oms. any idea ? guys ? thank you.

what kind of car runs 2ohm speakers? Ive found 8 ohm and even the discusting 10ohm but i think 2ohm stock would make hte head unit catch fire, unless you have one of those lame "premium systems" with daisy chained speakers.

he said it has an OEM amp, so the headunit doesn't have to do anything.
To answer your question, if your car has an OEM amp seperate from the headunit, then unless you rewired all of the speakers they're getting the exact same amount of power as they were before, which is the same amount of power that the stock speakers were getting.

No, never look at the max wattage. The "Nominal" or RMS wattage is what is useful in determining the actual power output of the speakers. So yours are running at 20 Watts.

i have no sub, only 4 infinity speakers. when i set bass at max. the highs tend to fade out when the bass hits. if i lower the bass, it's fine. should i add a sub+D-amp? or upgrade to a 4-channals amp to power the speakers?

if you want more bas while maitaing you high and mids then you shoudl get a sub. then use your regular speakers to do the mid and high work. a crossover would help in this endeavor.

i'm smart with the volume knob. it's common sense to turn down the volume when you hear something funny. i buy the biggest amp possible and just under use it :D;)
my horns gets very annoying after about 5w. it'll get too loud for my taste after that.
