hi
we have a 1989 dodge grand caravan, v6, 3.0L . We were told that we need a new TRANS MODULE. What is this? Where is it located in the van, what does it do and what does it look like? The dodge dealler ship quoted us 379.00 for just the part (and 65 dollars an hour for labor). Any way I hope some one can help. Please. Thankyou emily

the transmission control module controls all functions of the transmission, i.e. shifting. It's mounted on the firewall by 4 bolts, and it's a black box with one electrical connector w/ many wires.
