I have a '92 SHO that runs fine. VERY strong YAMAHA (specially designed for the SHO) V6 3.0, 24V, DOHC engine with 110,000 miles on it. I just had a new clutch put in 6 months ago. New struts about 1 year ago. The body doesn't have any dents or anything, but there is visible, easily fixable rust. It needs an oil pan gasket, a tune-up (although it runs fine now, it will run better with new Motorcraft plugs and high-performance wires). You MUST use Motorcraft plugs due to the spacing, which the owner before me did not know when he replaced the plugs the first time. It also needs sway bar end caps. You don't HAVE to replace them but if you want the clicking noise it sometimes makes when turning, you need to replace them. It also needs a new exhaust (or someone capable of patching). It is not REAL loud right now, but it is a little loud. I have debated putting on a Dynamax Cat Back system that would cost about $300 (parts and labor). Overall, putting $1500 into this car will give you a high performance car runs and drives beautifully and fast. It already is VERY fast. I have it in 5th (it's a 5-speed by the way) at 80MPH and I am only running about 5,000 RPM. It accelerates VERY well (obviously it will better with a tune-up. The car is totally LOADED. The leather on the driver seat is worn. Anyways, I am actually debating selling this car or not. I might put the money into it, but if someone will offer a good price, I will sell it. I am from Rochester, NY. My email is [email protected].
