Headlights

I have an 85 Tbird with a four headlight system. I've noticed that on most vehicles the lowbeams are on the outside and highbeams on the inside. On my bird the lowbeams are on the inside and highbeams on the outside. Is this right or do I need to swap the headlights/sockets?

on my 92 5.0L Highs are the inner's and the lows are the outer's... I dont know if that helps, the placement of them really dosnt matter i guess...
