Winter Mode

Anyone with a 1992 Rodeo have the WINTER/POWER buttons working? if so how does it drive off the line in WINTER mode, does it do the same in DRIVE as it does in LOW?? does a WINTER light come on in the dash when activated? I need to know everything about it and possible then i can determine the problem in my car...i am thinking that if WINTER mode starts your transmission out in 3RD gear, then i might have the WINTER mode permenatly activated on my car, really sluggish off the line and doesnt seem to shift around when 1st gear should.

If you think the switch is hung up, pull it and unplug it. Take it for a drive.

on my 2000, I have to give is a lot of gas (2000 rpms) to start rolling.

yeah, same problem as mine, about 2000 rpms to get going, a little while to get up to about 10 mph, i have tried unplugging it, and just moved the car around in the drive way, maybe about 5 or 10 ft, cant go too far with it right now, any way to figure out why it is stuck, or if it is even that? i have already pulled the switch apart and put it back together with no luck

Im not sure if thats what winter mode does, but mines not working, and my isuzu is stuck in 3rd gear while in drive.. also has a check trans light on.. If i drop it to L it goes to 1st, etc. etc..

winter is made to give you mor tracktion (a lower gear) you have to be stop to put it in and no a light does not come on and after you hit 25mph it shuts off so it is made to go sluggish and slow i use my when im mud ridding
