I put a new fuel pump on my Taurus (3 L, v6) to see if it would cure the problem of dying when idling in trafic and now when driving down the road in normal conditions. Did the job in 2 hours. Only thing that went amiss was one of the plastic seal retainers broke. I left it off thinking it not that important since on the suction side of pump. Also replaced EGR valve. Now the car runs very ruff, will barely make it up a good hill, and is storing the following codes. 335 (EGR Sensor voltage out of range), 157 (Mass Air Flow Sensor below minimum voltage), 172 (Oxy Sensor indicates lean cond. rite side), 176 (Oxy Sensor indicates lean cond. left side), 211 (Profile Ingnition Pickup circuit fault), 326 (EGR circuit voltage lower than expected). Please help

make sure you hooked up the vacuum hoses right. there should be a diagram under the hood somewhere.

If the pump is sucking in air, fuel delivery to the motor won't be good.
Did you test your old pump? Was it really the problem?
