cheap fix for missing tran mount bolt?

a year ago a mechanic broke a chunk of the casing off my transmission. the chunk included one of the three stud holes for the top transmission mount. cracks propogating from the casing leaked about a quart of fluid an hour so i had to JB weld it shut to get home.
being moneyless, i have continued to drive my car around (93 1.9 180k 5spd, about 20k since i glued casing shut) with this missing mount. however, i have some free time now and would like to do something about it, short of replacing the transmission.
in a thread long past on rec.autos.tech (i think) i asked about this problem and was warned that the missing stud would mean new and unplanned for stresses on the mount. this could result in a catastrophic failure, which i sure woudl hope to avoid..
it was mentioned that even though it is impossible to make a new strong load bearing stud (not enough casing to tap) i might put something in there just to help out.
so-
1) do you think i am cruising for a bruising? do i need to pony up for a new transmission?
or-
2) would a weak pseudo-stud help?
i was thinking i could jb weld a fat bolt to the casing where the old stud was, and use this in an attempt to stop the mount flexing everytime i shift. this would only take a little time. the reason i havent just done it is because i am worried that vibrations or other forces on the pseudo stud would rip it out, potentially taking my old JBweld patch with it, and causing me to leak all my tranny fluid onto the road again in no time flat.
it bears mentioning: there is some lugging and other shifting slop that has become more and more apparent to me. mounts look tight at a glance and a poke, but really need more glancing and poking. i am worried that this could be the final nail in the transmission mount's coffin if i do not do something to make it truly secure.

well its just an idea, but most tranny work like 90% of the cost is the labor, parts are cheap. so if you think you can even take out your tranny by yourself, or have someone help you I dont care. but if you can get your tranny out, possibly call around to junk yards and just ask to see if you can just buy the tranny case, which is unlikey, but even if the tranny doesnt work, if you can buy a blown tranny for really cheap, and just take a tranny shop the old tranny and the case thats in one peice and tell them to swap the guts from one into the good case. problem solved. my buddy kinda had to do the same thing. had his clutch replaced by a shop, didnt secure the clutch pin, so it flew out went thru the caseing, so he just got a new casing and kept the tranny. might work.
