My truck is a 94' gmc s-15 jimmy, vin W. Aparently my fuel inectors are broken. It idles like crap, power loss of about 40 percent, crappy throttle response. The car has 134k on it. I hear its a solid engine, except for the injectors. My cousin said that it is dub'd " the spider" because the part looks like a spider. anywho, i had the car checked out, compression test is good, spark plugs, wiring and cap were replaced like 10k miles ago so they're fine. Am i correct to say it is the injectors? if so where is the best price i can find one, i here they run about 500 bucks new. I can do the labor myself i just need to know if this is a common problem cause i want this to fix it completly. thanx yall

Replace the injector and the nut kit which is the fuel line kit in the upper plenum.

Do them both and get the nut kit at the dealer and the injector off of ebay.

All said and done, I did the whole job for about $350.

Also, remember the new plenum gasket from the dealer.

Yes, you can use that, it will work perfectly.

You can use the fuel line kit you had in the second link because that is not made for your truck.

Get the nut kit and the upper plenum gasket from the dealer.

You did use a new upper plenum gasket right?

Did you clean out the EGR hole in the fron of the plenum?

Hey, BlazerLT, does that work on any 4.3? I mean, would they all have the same nut kit and injector problem? Im asking cause I noticed yours is multi-port injected aint it? would a TBI or a CPI 4.3 also have the same problems? I have a 97 Jimmy with a CPI 4.3 engine, and sometimes when i start it up and get ready to go, I hit the gas and it hesitates really badly, acts like its gonna cut off, then starts running fine after a while, and Im thinking it could be the same problem.

Yours is a CSFI, not a CPI.

If you are getting a delay like that, more than likely you should clean your MAF sensor filament wires gently witha soft toothbrush and TB cleaner.

The black gunk that accumulates on the two internal small sensor wires often will cause that.

yeah, thats what I meant, CSEFI, cause I could tell from ur engine pic on cardomain urs is a CMFI rite? I'm gonna clean that gunk off tomorrow, to tell u the truth, I haven't even thought of looking at the MAF. the delay is so bad thought, its like the engine shudders, and ill hit the gas all the way in, and itll just sit there and shudder till I let go of the pedal till it reacts, then it starts acting alrite. But, do u know if mine would also have the nut kit and injector that u guys are talking about, or does that not apply to a CSEFi?

Nope, different injection system.

The MAF is often the cause of the hiccup like that.
