I have a 97 integra that died on me on the freeway. the car feels like it wants to start but wont. the engine is cranking, ignition seems fine, just finished belts/head gasket etc etc. My first guess seems to be a fuel pressure regulator or a fuel pump. the pump primes when the key is turned to the on position so I'm guessing it is ok. any advice?

did you run out of gas?? Don't laugh, but you should check that. I had a friend w/ a broken down car and he simply ran out of gas. Is it getting fuel??

i once had that problem and i had to replace my starter. My engine was cranking but there was no spark being produced.

As of right now mine takes about ten turns before it starts up. It has had problems on and off but it is getting worse and worse. When I turn the key I hear a click but nothing else. I was told that my starter is bad. What does everyone think> Is it the starter??

it has gas. I would not replace the starter because it is turning over. if I turned the key and heard a click, I need a new starter. It is cranking and the battery is fine, there is gas in the tank(fuel pump primes when key is in on position) so I know the pump is working. could be a ignition issue, I need to check if it has spark and go from there. this is most likely a fuel issue. we tried ghetto towing it last night and got pulled over. The dumb thing is the car is stuck in chino and I live in long beach.

it could be electrical. check if the sparkies are getting spark. could be a distributor prob?

it may be the starter switch itself ... hot wire it from the pos terminal to the starter and see if it runs if it does you have to replace the ignition switch .. you can save if you service it .. good luck

that wouldnt make sense if your engine was cranking then but not recieving spark then u would want to check the ignition system (like spark plugs or distribitor)
