clutch pedal low

I just did the timing belt. turning on the car revealed a squealing belt. what I'm concerned with is my clutch pedal is pretty low and the fluid is low too, what type of fluid should I refill this with? the lack of a factory manual is obvious.

Any brake fluid will work. Be sure to bleed it properly. Air in the lines can certainly cause a low engagement point. Clutch fluid doesnt dissapear though, pull back the boot on the slave and look for fluid, and look on the insed of the firewall for fluid from the master.

I checked for leaks by the pedal assembly and on the firewall, everything is clean. I added some fluid and the engagement point is even lower. I should bleed the whole system. its weird because there are no leaks and the clutch was fine before I did the belts. some fluid knew there was some abusive driving about to take place and ran away.

it also took a few seconds for my oil pressure to rise to normal upon startup. I noticed the oil pan is dented in and I feel my (careful) use of it to hold up the engine while I changed belts may have dented it in further. any opinions? :banghead: Not quite that bad but I want to drive it like I stole it.

Thats real hard to say without being able to see it. Hopefully its alright. If I remember correctly, the 2g pickup design allows for a little more room for error than the 1g one. I would keep a close eye on oil pressure for a while. When I lost the motor to the dented pan, I didnt have a "real" oil pressure guage. If I did, I'm sure I would have caught something, if I was looking at it anyway.

I cant risk that. I will take it out(the pan)and try banging them out. thanks for the insight.
