This problem just occurred...the transmission shifts into neutral usually going downhill and makes noises. I have no other transmission problems and there is no slipping. Transmission guys could not find a problem.
Help!!
When I do not gas the car as I am driving and I let go of the gas pedal, it shifts into neutral but once I step on the gas pedal, it will eventually shift back into gear.
This only occurs at high speeds (on the freeway) and not during street driving.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Check the gear shift linkage to make sure that it is adjusted properly and confirm that the gear selector sensor is not loose or any way damaged. Also check the wiring to the selector sensor to make sure it is clean and tight.I was also thinking of engine and tranny mounts.Check these to make sure they are not worn out.The mounts may not be the problem based on your description of the problem, but it won't hurt to check.

if your truck is fitted with a 4L80E i would presume that your first sprag in your tranny is waisted!
