Transmission Installation Problem

I am finishing a clutch replacement on a 1987 GMC S-15 Jimmy 2.8L - 4WD. The transmission and transfer case are reinstalled. But I am having a huge problem with installing the tranmission support bar. The support bar holes will not align with the cushion mout bolts that attach to the transmission. They are about a bolt hole off, it is like the transmission needs to move towards the passenger door side. I have tried numerous(a lot) times to jack the transmission and manuver the tranmission to make it align. But it just will not fit no matter what I try. Any ideas?

check and make sure that your engine mounts have not moved.

Sounds like the tranny is no mounted properly on the engine.
