My husband has a 93 Cherokee that he is going to put a Rockcrawler lift on. The probem is he can't decide between a 6 or an 8 inch lift.He asked me to check this out for him. He will also be putting on 33 or 35" Superswampers. He will use this as a daily driver, but for fun will he will wheel in the mud and also wants to rockcrawl with it. If anyone has personal prefrences, please let me know! Thanks!!

If you lift your Jeep that high you will need to replace a whole lot of other parts (i.e. suspension, shock mounts, and brake lines). Make sure that you have everything before you start. It will take yuo the day to complete.
If you run Swam-runner type tires on the street be prepared for the extra noise and jumping around that comes with those tires.
Rancho lift kits are about the best, and you can probably find a good kit on E-bay for a lower cost.
Have fun...

Full Traction 6" longarm kit, Rubicon Express 5.5" longarm kit with 1" coil spacer, or Rockkrawler 6" longarm kit. In that order. Cut out fenders with flares, and 35's. Dont forget shocks, brake lines, trackbar and drop bracket, CV rear driveshaft, rear axle shims, Slip Yolk Eliminator, and drop pitman arm. Many of these should be included in the kit.
If he is going to do any kind of "rock crawling" whatsoever, you may want to make the extra investment in a locking differential for the rear axle. Rock crawling while open-diffed equals stuck.

Oh man!!!! I can't stand it... I love that XJ....
My wife is the one that initiated this thread.. THanks a lot for responding and thanks even more for posting the pic.s'. I now have my answer, I'm going with the 8" lift, and unless I find any reason not to go with the ROCK KRAWLER SYSTEM, I'll go with their system. A local Shop here (Big Wheel Off Road, in HUBERT, NC, just outside Camp LeJeune, NC) had installed the 8" lift from Rock Krawler on a XJ and the Jeep was awesome. I've been planning this build up for almost a year now. It's really time to build it now.
I can't get past the pics of this Red XJ, Man, that's one awesome XJ. Any additional info is welcome. Please send any/all additional info. that may help in my project XJ. I sold my built CJ-5 to afford my new project and can't wait to get started.
Thanks again. :grinyes:
