price range late 70's early 80's camaros?

just wondering whats a good price range for buying a late 2nd gen camaro

i just bought an 84 for 500 bucks

I think he wants a second gen but yeah...

Maybe I should start doing that... buy cheap black F-Bodies, no liscensing, no insurance, and just go through one every 2 weeks and pretend like in knight rider or something... Just drive em to death... just a fantasy

Depends on the condition you want it in. I had an 80 Firebird, which i got for $400, but the car was messed up. Interior was a mess, had a 3.8 in it (they said it originally had and V8, don't know which one but they got rid of it) and the list goes on. I say for one thats in good shape and needs just a little restoration, 3grand, just a ball park figure though.

a friend of mine has a 79 camaro, black, with a 305 in good shape. wants like 3K for it. in NC

The funny thing was that a vacuum couldn't help the firechicken. Door panels were ripped off, dash cracked, none of the gauges worked, didn't even have headliner, hole in the floor on the passenger side and the list goes on. I wanted to keep it for the future so i could completely restore it, but one day i started it and it was running fine, until it caught on fire ( i still don't know why it did that, it's was only sitting for like 1year) so i had to get rid of it.

$? depends on what you're looking at. Cherry 1970 cost you 27k+. Mine was 14500, not perfect, lot of little stuff to fix, but faster'n'shit and looks nice. '79s are relatively cheap ~ 3k - 7k depending on where the car is and its condition.

Bottom line is the car is worth what you're willing to pay for it. To me, mine was worth 14500 although I doubt I'd get that for it if I tried to sell it.

There's alot of classic car dealers on the net that'll give an idea of what people are ASKING for certain cars, look'm up get an idea and use your judgement.

Well put, also it depends on the year, since 80s arent considered classics, they'll go for cheaper (sometimes) But it always does depend on engine, interior, exterior, and repair/fix needs.

I always liked the 81 Maros, saw one on one of those net dealers for like $8500, was going to buy it but it was gone already... that's the only problem with those damn things, some of them leave the cars on there after they're sold, they think it's like some great marketing tool. Makes you want to kick their heads in.

earl and rally look at the pics its a nice camaro not a gem or anything near mint, but like earl said i have seen some 70s in the 15k+ range

LT1MAN could he post some pics please? The distance might be a problem though i live in Chicago and NC is like a 15 hour drive. The place were the camaro in the pics is about 15 mins
