Hey guys, I was wondering who had H22a accords here, and how do they like them? Also what kind of 1/4 times have you been pulling? Thanks inadvance!

Do you have any estimates or expected times with the h22a in your accord? Also is it even worth it in the 98+ accords. I saw a weight chart of the cars and the 98+ accords weigh more than the 97+ Preludes :( Thanks inadvance...

Well right from the get go, I'm putting in a lightened flywheel, ACT heavy duty (95%) clutch, adjustable cam gears, underdrive pulleys, 9:1 pistons, springs, retainers, rods, sleeves. I think that's it for now. The plans are eventually to go turbo on it where I should be making about 350HP to the wheels at least. I'm hoping for at least 12's.
I don't know anything about the newer accords so I don't know if a prelude engine would be worth it. I have the crappy 4cyl non-vtec accord engine so it's definitely worth it for me.

I have the real JDM Accord SiR and it came with a H22A DOHC VTEC engine. Compared to the SOHC and SOHC VTEC Accords, it certainly is more powerful. The H22A is worth it.
My SiR also has a larger 15" front brake disc and 14" rear brake disc. Stabilizer bars are upsized, damper and spring settings are harder, body structure is strengthened. All these are exclusive to the SiR.
So if you do swap a H22A into your Accord SOHC or SOHC VTEC, larger front brake discs are worth considering for the extra stopping power.
Don't know how much it timed since I never bothered to.

Didn't cost me anything, since it's not a swap.
All I did was to spend some money and buy the real SiR.
The H22A just came with the car when it was built and assembled at the Honda plant in Japan.
This is why I said it's the real JDM Accord SiR.

By the way, all the bigger size brakes, stabilizer bars and harder suspension setting are all stock, exclusive to the real JDM Accord SiR.
I didn't swap them either. Just stock stuff.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner but I was stuck at crappy import auto vibe.
If you're interested in doing the swap and keeping your car legal, that $1500 H22A you're talking about won't work. I can almost guarantee you that's for an OBDI engine. If you do an engine swap, you cannot put an engine in your car that's older than your car, so you need at least a 96 engine, which are OBDII and a bit more money. You shouldn't pay more than $1300 for the install. I would recommend at least getting a lightened flywheel installed while the engine and transmission are out though. I got a Fidanza one for 325 and it only weighs 8.2Lbs!! You probably won't need a new clutch but if you're planning on making lots of power later on you should put in the new clutch now since the install will be a lot less while the engine is out, which is why I mentioned the flywheel too. The engine you buy should come with everything you need, the new ECU, axles, tranny, all the wiring. If it doesn't then your installer will be able to do it for you.
