Thrown rod rumor

Hey i was lookingin into and 1987 turbo supra, but have herd rumors of the supra having problems in throwing a rod as well as the BHG problem.

It's not a rumor, it's the truth. If you run the 7M low on oil, you will get rod knock. That problem is the owner's fault 99% of the time. BHG is another story, if you get crazy with the boost on a stock HG, it will most likely blow very quickly. It can also happen from everyday use, average wear and tear caused by Toyota's low head bolt torque. There's nothing you can do about it really except plan ahead for the coming rebuild and just be prepared. Other than those two problems and a few other very minor ones (tail light failure box, low fan speed resistor, leaky targa, DS carrier bearing) the MKIII is a great car with exceptional potential if you know what to do.
