I took my 1994 Caprice Classic LS to the repair shop for some work I got a new fuel pump, new radiator and a new thermostat, the next day I picked it up and on my way home I realized that the meter on the fuel gauge was all the way up past full. When I first got in the car I thought maybe they had just filled up the tank. It was'nt until I drove for a while that I realized the meter would not go down at all. Please anybody, help me out.

I would take the car back to the repair shop and explain the problem. When they replaced the fuel pump, they probably disturbed the sending unit, resulting in the errorenous reading on your fuel gauge. I had a similar problem with a '90 Lesabre and had to drop the tank again and fix the wiring from the sending unit.

They possibly didn't ground the sending unit -

You may be able to look underneath the back and see if there is a wire hanging loose. That could be the ground wire that ladymech62 is talking about. I recently changed the fuel tank on a 78 CC and another possiblity is that the sending unit got stuck in the up position and won't go down. It's just a variable resistor and the gas gauge is like an ohm meter.
