Just an idea.

Maybe this is totally insane but here's my idea. Since a cold air intake gives you a few more net ponies because the colder air increases the compression why not route one of the A/C ducts to blow cold a/c charged air onto your cold air intake filter? So when you start the car with no a/c it runs at normal op temp for a C.A.I but once your car gets to normal operating temp you turn on the a/c switch and bam. SUPER cold air intake. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Not a bad idea in theory. But this is just my opinion. Whatever power you may gain may be cancelled out by the effect of having the AC compressor on all or most of the time. It does rob horsepower.

If you're normally aspirated I really don't know what's to be gained. However, the best mod around that line for a supercharged engine would be an intercooler.

i've though of that myself, but running the a/c compressor will actually rob more power then you will gain from the cold air.
If you have your a/c on and cranked all the time when your racing, then i guess it would work, but i haven't met any racers that do that.
really there are alot of factors that result in warm/cold air, but so long as your getting fresh (cooler) air from outside the engine bay, thats about the best your gonna get (i may be wrong, open to ideas here).

Just wondering. Thanks for the info.
