1996 Ford Taurus 3.0L - Installed new rebuild and drove 2,000 miles and head gasket blew. Took of heads had checked and replaced the head gasket. Couple thousand miles down the road head gasket blown again. Company I bought engine from had me pull engine and go through again. They said the pistons were shrunk and that I got it hot. The engine has never overheated and never indicated being hot. My temp gauge is working. It also melted my plug wires once. After installing new engine the second time couple thousand miles down the road head gasket out again. Seems to be in #1 cylinder. I am in process of pulling head and replacing head gasket again. No engine codes ever came up. It always seems to happen when I go on hiway for a long trip, never have problem driving around town. Any ideas on what causing problem.
Thanks in advance.

im sure you already know this if you are doing this kind of work your self but make sure the mating surfaces are perfectly clean and that the gasket is being put on in the proper direction.

maybe check your hoses and coolant system, the coolent systmen not working right will just overheat your system and can blow your head gasket which ive done. Check all you hoses going into the engine, and air leak can cause your engine to not work properly and overheat and again blow the gasket.
