You don't want a generic scan tool like the one from that website. Pocketlogger is the most common software/cable I believe. Check their website for compatibility with your palm. pocketlogger.com

ok another question, how does this logger work, where does it get its information from? if it gets the fuel trims from the stock narrow band 02 sensor then it would be point less to tune with this. you could tune with a volt meter on your o2. am i right?

The pocketlogger receives it's infomation directly from the ECU via the OBD-II port. The fuel trims are calculated by the ECU during normal cruising mostly from feedback from the O2 sensor. What we are concerned about is what happens at WOT. At WOT the ECU could car less what the O2 voltage is and looks at airflow. This airflow number is what the ECU uses to calculate fuel delivery.

With a 2g you tune for maximum timing advance, which is calculated by the ECU via airflow and knock. On a 1g you tune excluisively for knock.

If you just buy a cable, you can download free dataloggers such as OBD gauge and palm n stein.
http://students.db.erau.edu/~szabafab/stein/
http://www.qcontinuum.org/obdgauge/

Both are completly free, and work excellent for basic tuning. If you are tuning for more advanced things, DSMlink is the way to go.

Almost all the palm's will work with most datalogging software, they actually have more problems with the newer palms.

The stock narrowband will work but will not be any good for more than barely adequit tuning. If you really want to tune properly, you will want a good wideband o2, and preferably a dyno.

i figured the car not exploding was worth $175. Who can help you with proprietary softwares if you need help?
