I need help doing a burnout in my Sentra it never wants to break traction the specs are this:

LOL... HA HA HA HA.
Your first problem is that you have an automatic. It helps to be able to rev it up and drop a clutch.
Your second and third problems are your stock 1.6L engine. You are going to need a little more power than you have.


Find an uphill section of road with some sand or gravel.. you should be able to spin them there.

The big question is.... why do you want to burn up your tires? If you really need to get rid of money you can just send it to me.

you have no idea these tires have mybe 30% tread left but I want to do the burnout on pavement so you can f**k off.

Well congratulations.... 2 posts and you have already learned how swear at people for no reason. You'll fit right in.

Look... if you want to do a burnout you can try a brakestand. Put one foot on the gas and give it... the other on the brake... when you engine hits like 5k rpms, let off the brake completely... you MIGHT have enough power to loose your right tire.

OR... You can try spending some money... First off a Cold Air Intake... Second, some headers, third, and exhaust, fourth, a torque converter. Then maybe you will have enough power to spin those little wheels.

OR... you can find conditions that will assist you... for example, an uphill portion of road... Gravity will pull your center of gravity back a bit and loosen the weight on the front tires... that will help. Find an area with some gravel or sand on the road... that will help your tires spin a bit. Get them wet... if you've ever seen a drag race, you have seen the water box where the pavement is a little wet to help them loose the tires a bit.

OR... replace your front tires with smaller ones... less contact patch equals less traction, which is what you are trying to accomplish.

OR... you can learn that doing burnouts is not really that cool... it is just a waste of perfectly good tires.

Now... don't get me wrong. Sentra's are nice cars. I think very highly of them.. I used to have one. They handle great, are reliable, good looking, sporty for an economy car, etc... But an old Sentra with a 1.6 and automatic is just not built for burnouts.

or if you don't care too much about the car's health, you can put it in Neutral and floor it then drop it into Drive. You'll peel out. Maybe you can work with that for starters.

i have a 1.6L auto 94 sentra, and im telling you if you wanna have fun with it your doing it wrong. the car is awsome since its so light. try taking sharp corners, putting the car in neutral, and pulling the e-brake. so thsi at around 20mph til you get used to it or you will crash. also, get a frotn strut tower bar off ebay. mine cost $5 and it makes a big different. i can corner far more sharply, and if i turn right while accelarating, i can actually get the back to slide out! my next plan for the car is to get springs from teh junkyard and cut them to lower the car. since the car is basicalyl worhtless its so much fun because u an mod it howver you like

drive in reverse and get up to about 10 mph then floor it as you dump it into drive, my 1.6 used to love me for that one

DO NOT DO THIS! Cutting the springs may seem like a cheap suspension mod, but really it is going to make the handling and drivability worse! It not only lessens the travel distance of the springs, the spring coefficient is lowered, so it travels much easier. This means not only is your ride going to be much more "floaty", but then when your cornering your springs aren't going to be enough to stop your body from hitting your wheels.
