piston problem

I am installing new pistons and rods into my B16A2 and I think I'm about to have a big problem. From what I've read, the piston pins are either pressed onto the rods or are secured in the pistons and rods by other means. My problem is that when I put in the pins, they just fit right into the pistons and rods, meaning they slide back and forth pretty easily. There is nothing to stop the pins from moving back and forth. I'm afraid the pins are going to tear up my cylinder walls if I don't do anything. (The pistons are Nippon Type R and the rods are Eagle H-Beams, if that makes any difference.) Does anybody have any advice about what I should do?

Maybe I just be really stupid... :screwy: I dunno... :banghead:

have you installed the clips that hold the pin?

There were no clips. That's what concerns me. I'll check again but I don't even remember see a place for the clips to seat in the pistons :disappoin .

they may not have come with the pistons, you may need to order new ones.

full floating wrists pins. moves easy back and forth and are held in my clips on each side. so if it didnt come with the clips than call the company and have them send you some because there is suppose to be 2, one for each side
