Hi all:
I am trying to replace a broken door handle on the rear doors (i.e. the rear of the vehicle, not the rear side door) of my GMC Safari. I have the new part, but am stumped as to how to get the doors open so that I can disassemble the license plate frame, which has the door handle on one edge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi
try getting a flathead in where the handle snapped, or drill out the rivets from the handle. When you drill out the rivets, you can take off the handle. Take of the parts that are connected to the one rod coming down (little spring, etc...) and use a flathead or your fingers to pull down the rod to get your latch to go. Once you have the door open, you can access the area from the little side panel.
