I'm looking for a frame from a 1996 to 2000 4wd extra cab, V-6 Tacoma. I've tried several salvage yards in the Wash. DC area, but am coming up empty. If anyone has something or knows where else I should check, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

As you have found it's hard to get one from a salvage yard. Most of their trucks have frame damage on the newer vehicles and I don't ever recall seeing salvage yards remove frames. I guess the frame makes a good storage container for the other parts they want to sell. You may have better luck trying to find someone wanting to sell a worn out truck with a blown engine or transmission to get a frame. If you have storage space you could then sell parts off the truck.
I don't know why you need a frame but if your frame is damaged or bent you can get frames straightened and repaired. Check with a good body shop for a frame repair facility. Perhaps I'm telling you something you already know, if so my apologies.

Clifton,
Thanks for the info. I actually located a frame from a flooded Tacoma at Cunningham Brothers Salvage in VA. However, I decided to visit another body shop and get a second opinion about straightening my frame before trying to replace it.
Thanks again.
