A/c?

Yesterday I turned my A/C on. I noticed it wasn't blowing on the front vents, just from the floor. I checked the "adjusment knob", it was pointed towards the front vents.
I noticed the "A/C button" wasn't lite but it was pushed in for the A/C. The button did light up and started blowing through the front vents, but it eventually went back off and blowing at the bottom vent again.
I'm thinking there's a short or something. I checked the fuse and it was cool.
Has anyone had this porblem? I did read that the 95 Yukon had serious electrical problems. So I guess I'm running into it now. I just spent about $2800 on repairs already. I DON'T NEED THIS HAPPENING NOW!!! :banghead:
It would happen when summer is coming.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

This happened to me on my 90 K1500. For me it was the mode actuator (which controls the mode door). I took it apart and all the grease was dry. I put some white grease on the gears, put it back together and it has been working fine since.
The mode actuator is available from both ac delco parts stores or the dealer. On my 90 it is under that dash on the drivers side of the tranny hump.

Goto http://www.acdelco.com/html/catalog/index_img.htm and type 15-72634 to see what one looks like.
You might also turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. They switch between defrost and a/c and you might hear some noise coming from the mode actuator.

I've checked but I don't hear anything but air blowing from the floor vents. It must be just completly out!
I guess I'll be ordering the part pretty soon. It's 59.50 @ the GMC dealership. It seems like it would be a breeze for to take it off. I really don't want to pay a $100 for them to do it!

Is your AC light working? mine is out and the button doesn't work (actually, the light stays on really dim until I turn the fan on)

Yes, my A/C is working. It's just blowing from the bottom.

I just bought that part you are speaking of and it didn't fix my problem, so I'll probably need the control unit as well. However, that part that you need is really easy to replace. something like 4 little screws...

Did you purchase it from acdelco? I'm having a hard time with their site. "Page Errors". How much did you pay for it?

No, I just got it from the local GM dealer. $60.00 out the door.
