When I start my car, there's a belt that screeches. After I press on the gas a couple of times (it gets louder when I do that) then it will quit. Which belt would this be? Thanks!

Open the hood, and feel the tension in the belts. Miy PS belt squeels in the morning or when its cold.

look at the serpentein belt and check tensions of all the belts.

try tightening the surpentine belts. they might have stretched a little over time and you need to tighten them again.

How would you know if he has a serpentine belt? Mystic... what kinda car ya got?
If it is the 4G63 engine it is most likely the alternator belt... If you ever decide to get a new belt I highly suggest getting an OEM belt from the dealership... I went through two new belts from autozone and another place and it just started to squeel after a month or two... for some reason OEM is the best and pretty decent price too.. about $15 for my alt. belt. and it never squeeled.
MYSTIC!!!! PUT YOUR CAR TYPE IN YOUR SIGNIATURE!!! I saw you have a 95 eclipse but what kind? RS, GS, GS-T, GSX?

There are like 3 different belts over there that it could be. Just check the tightness of all of them, and replace those that look worn with OEM belts. I mostly noticed mine when it was raining or damp out, and woulndt really go away, even after warming it up.

My belt squeels when I warm the car up too. It's more of a faint squeek squeek squeek, about every half second. So many noises from this car. Just wondering, how could the belt itself make the squeeling noise. I would have though it would be a pulley or something w/out greece, maybe from washing the engine. Cause I don't think my belts have ever been changed so they're OEM.

tighten all belts, 95 percent of the time it will remove all squeeks or squeals!......if that doesnt help then replace it like previously stated.

just because they're OEM doesn't mean they can't squeak. they have to be tightened properly and also must be half-decently in line with the other ones. they might squeal when they stretch out or get old.
