I have a few questions regarding this kit.
1. Do i paint the body in Italian Red?, because I don't know which colour to spray it in, Red or silver.
2. Do they supply all the decal's to make it exactly like the real thing?
3. Do i need to do like any 2-tone colouring?

Only way you'll learn how to is by trying. Take a look at some of the build diaries for this model and the Skline in the same livery. I think Tamiya have it well sorted so the areas to be masked off aren't too tricky. If you are interested in the car have a go, if not the there are pleny of other models to build.

maybe i should get the calsonic Z?, anyone built this kit?
I'm just scared that if i screw up the 2-tonning, and i dont really have the money to buy a few models to try it on... and besides, modelling is just something i do for fun and not take seriously, id rather be driving(when i get my license) :)

Practice on a metal can like a coke can. The thicker ones work best. Or just grab any old piece of plastic and try on that, if you can find something with small surface imperfections like details on a model then all the better.
One of the next cars I am going to build is the Trampio Sierra Cosworth which has a three tone paintjob so I have been using coke cans as a rough practice.

This is one of the easiest models to paint two tone. Just pant silver, and red and decal, clear coat if you wish.
The instructions are very clear and the mask lines are all on major engraved lines. All the colors are called out in the instructions.
Just make sure the under coat for the Italian Red is uniform or you will see it through the red.
The decals match the colors, you won't be able to tell what's paint and what's decal when you are done.
Also, you can substitute Gloss Aluminum for the Mica Silver, I did and the decals still match.
I am also building the Skyline while I build the Z, the Z is easier to paint the two tone on due to the areas the color breaks are.
Dive in and you will be pleasantly surprised... - Mark

I've just started fiddling with my 350 and the two-tone isn't very hard to do. Just as Scale-master said, it's clearly shown where to divide the two colours. Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it...I know I will.

this is quite easy 2 tone paint job. Tamiya supply decal to "hide" a bit the color charge. The F1 William is much harder than this.
just get it and order some Tamiya masking tape. It's easy.

You can do it!!!
Worst that can happen is that you strip it and start over!
Just be patient...

The kit itself goes together well, you shouldn't have a problem with it at all, Just make sure you have some Decal solution

Take a look here and you'll see that you don't have to paint the Tear-stripes at all. They're all on the decal sheet, you just paint the body red and silver as per the instuctions and apply the decals. Red stripes on the silver portions and silver one's on the red one's.

The tear strips are decals. Go here:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/index_e.asp?Bno=3210644&Typ1_c=102
Then look up the 1/24 Tamiya kits and find the car. Then look at the instructions they have printed there. As you will see...very easy paint job.

This one is a bit harder becose of the Carbon Fiber and Photo-etched part.
the paint asked is TS8 and TS17
you also need many brush paint color + Glue + Super glue (for PE parts) and all other thing needed for medelling

You paint the whole car silver, or mask what will be red and just paint everything except the roof, hood and front fenders silver. Note my previous post in this thread about the red.
Use either Gloss Aluminum or Mica Silver.
It calls out for Mica in the instructions, but the Xanavi Skyline calls out for Aluminum, the Aluminum matches the decals, and I don't have any Mica Silver yet...
Then mask across the body line on the roof and mask the front door line, cover all the silver and shoot the Italian Red.
It is quite simple for two tone.
Decal sovent is a must.
I also suggest you paint the black window strip on the tops of the doors before you start decaling... - Mark

THe parts that are carbon fiber are usually painted semi-gloss black. Also, the kit doesn't include the photo-etch parts. But they are not too hard.

Make sure you test any decal solvents before using them too. Some Tamiya decals are very easy to melt with the likes of Mircosol.

Cotton swab will come handy. After placing a decal to the desired location, roll the cotton swab as you move it in outward directions. That'll get rid of excess water and air bubbles, which helps a decal adhere well and dries fast. You might accidentally touch it while working on another decal, but the dried decal shouldn't move around.
