What car commercials really do a great job of making you want their car? What ones do you hate?
Good ones:
Subaru Impreza WRX commercials
Any Nissan commercial with sideways moving cars :D
Audi TT commercials
Volkswagen commercials (guy tackling the cart, GTI falling from the tree, guy washing neighbours Passat, etc..)
Bad ones:
Mazda Zoom Zoom commercials
Ford Windstar ("We designed this vehicle for absolute safety as you tug around no one but yourself in a uselessly large gas guzzler and vision blocker.")

Audi has a good one with the "form" morphing into performance and I like Porsche's "Even heaven has it's moments of hell" With the guy at the tracks and the train is going backwards.l

If you do that, I will be a repeat customer!
Anyway, many European cars don't make it here in any way.
Canada doesn't get everything the States get and vice-versa. We are luck enough to still have Lada. Oh yeaa.
My favorite commercial is fot the WRX. Everytime its on I run to the TV (I'm serious, my family thinks I'm nuts). I love all the aural and visual excitement. Ohh honey!
I also like some Audi commercials, they emphasize drivng, but they aren't as visceral as the WRX commercials.
I want to see that M5 commercial.
I hate Porsche commercials (they are quiet and stupid, no overpowering emotion, nothing)

I just found out that the 4 eastern Canadian provinces (including New Brunswick, where I live) have no, zero, zippo, 0 emission regulations. Woohoo! I can import Skylines, old WRX's, Elises, etc. without having to worry about emissions, at least for eastern Canadian customers!!! Yipee! :D

I would, rich people here might. :D
The reason I was saying I'd open it here is because we have no emissions regulations. Maybe I should start up a continent wide distribution program, so that you can buy a, say, Peugeot 206 over the internet and I can ship it to you, with any additional emissions or other equipment installed based on where you live.

WRX's set of 2 or 3 "Rally Bred" spots.
The Lexus IS "Rally" commercial was really good, too, but I don't think it's quite setup for that yet.
The new BMW spots featuring the flicks on BMWFilms.com, which are great commercials in themselves.
VW gets the award for funniest, by far.:silly2:

You know the new one with a guy in the hospital . . . he puts the blood pressure cuff around his neck and pumps it up, then tries to use the defibrillator (that thing that jumpstarts half-dead people) on himself . . .
All in an attempt to imitate the rush he felt riding his Kawasaki . . .

Oh yeah! Anyone see this Pennzoil commercial?
It starts with a guy in a sauna wearing only a towel. Two big men in labcoats run in and grab him by his arms while he shreiks "You got the wrong guy!" They toss him onto a treadmill and shove a breathing tube into his mouth, while a lady with a control box that has buttons for STOP and GO starts the treadmill and stops it suddenly. The guy stumbles and as he stands back up she starts it again. Stop, start, stop, start. The poor guy collapses and rolls off the treadmill as the voiceover comes up: "This is what you do to your car everyday. Stop. Go. Pennzoil."
I freakin' died when I first saw it! :D

Good Point, I didn't expect you to be a Lotus and Evo dealer only, Of course you'd have to sell bsic cars to get ongoing buisness. I think it's a great Idea. How many people in NA do you know that have a Peugot 206. Or a Renault? It might cost more, but I'd still buy one. You'd have to sell the following makes: Peugot, Rover, Renault, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Lotus, TVR, Ford (Cosworth), Mini, Fiat and Alfa Romeo. I know some of these do make it to NA, but it is a great idea.

You could have the Euro-spec cars. And I would pay a little more for something unique, and cool. And people trust some of those brands, too (bidness).
But beware: In england, they sell 1000 Camry's a year, over hear its like 400 000! Big difference, eh.

The new Toyota Celica commercials are literally over the edge . . . funny stuff.
To promote the new "Action Package" . . .
The premise is that the package makes the car look fast even when it's standing still . . .
One spot shows a dog run out of someone's yard and slam into the back of the car . . . as if he intended to chase the car . . . except it was standing still.
Another spot shows a cop on a motorcycle . . . first you hear the bull horn in the distance "Red Celica . . . pull over!!" . . . then you see the cop ride alomst past the car before realizing that no on is inside of it . . . and that it wasn't moving . . .
There's another, something to do with an old man yelling . . .

The one most prominent in my mind is Nissan's Sentra ad (not the most recent one) where the SE simply appears to be following the camera, when suddenly the shot rotates to show that the Sentra is actually speeding on a steeply banked section of a track.
OK, we all know that it's actually easier to drive a car on a banked turn rather than a horizontal plane, but I still say, as R35 always states, 'tre cool'.
