increasing horsepower

im starting to save up money so i can put it in to my car i want to start off by making it faster and louder any suggestions

its a 94' camaro automatic convertible thats all i know i just want it to be louder and increase horsepower and i want it to be a reasonable price so if you can throw in the costs of it if you cant its cool.

catback exhaust and headers would certainly do that. A good set of headers are a bit of a pain to install, but make a great sound and definate performance increases over stock. Add a high flow catalytic converter and cat back exhaust system to the car, and youll be in business.

how much you are willing to spend will make a great deal of difference.. obviously you're gonna need to get the standard upgrades, headers, hi-flow convertor, exhaust, CAI, etc... but if you're willing to go farther there is a ton more than can be done..

then do an intake upgrade if you still got some dough go get a camn for it have siome head work done (ie piort and polish ) good luck and hope itll do 210 and hit like over 120 decibles lol good luck

also, the catylitic converter (you may have been asking as a joke cuz you may not have emissions testing) is a peice of emissions equpment that uses rare earth metals to cause a chemical reaction that cleans up your exhaust of things like CO, NOx, HC, and O3.

do you know how to weld you can build a decent traction bar and steeriing brace and rear stabilizer and even aluminum motor mounts(no you dont have to know how to welds for the motor mounts
but that would help the handling and power distributuion to do that
and i think everbody covered the mods that would be a good start

cats do have rare earth metals i belive platinum is one of them not sure about the others havent took an automotive class in like 2 years

hell if he has a 95 and its a v6 then a supercharger wont to crap for a 3.4 but cost him a few checks, if its a lt1 then he has a butt load of options go when talking about mods. and for loud, once again if its a v6 u can hang it up, it wont happen unless u take the pipes off we cant get loud rumbles, it may sound better but it wont never sound like a z. a good cam can give you great increases cold air is always a good start and im surprised nobody said this, but a dyno tune can go a long way for the dollar.

z's are music to my ears or atleast all mine are lol 83 280 zx turbo rotted floors and shot motor other than that actually mint 86 na 300zx ands the legendary 1984 300zx tubo 1 of 5000 50th annerversery edition and yes numbers matching not a clone she was a bad one then blew a head gasket then (after replacieng the head gasket ) spun a bearing)

what makes me say if it's a v6 it wont never sound like a z? because u will never get a v6 to sound like a 8, but like i said thats if its not a z. you can make a 6 sound better with good exaust,but you wont never get that sweet rumble you will get from a 8

oh no man, im talking about the real z....z28 damn that nissan z, those things are not cool at all. they look good but they are slow, who wants a car that sounds like my ass when i have the bubble guts? we dont bring up other cars like that in here when we are talking about making our cars better, i would never try an make my car or any other guys camaro sound like a 350z. thats a big ass no no

first off 300zx tubo slow smoke you any day of the week now stop talking shit im sorry i misunderstood now as i was saying who would want to sound like that when you get the raw v 8 ppotato potato potato cammed up beast sorry for the misuinterpitation but if that was a challenge you gave me when i replace my bearings ill bring it on and we can run them couple of choice mods (as in putting a turbo on an na piston and boosting 12 psi)put me at over 370 fly wheel horse and weight in at under 2500 lbs and its 5 speed is it still slow????? i beg to differ now granted its not a z 28 but i also misinterpited what you said im sorry now lets let bygons be bygons and get on with it

hey big guy no need to bark loud in here, i said the 350 let me retype that for u..3-5-0 was slow where did u get 300z turbo? i personaly am not droping my draws for the performance the new z 3-5-0 has. but u can always bring your z here to fl and we can line them up, its just another car im sure!

still snappy, but i just misunderstood and had to defend myself.. but it was only fun till i blew my head gasket and spent a month on tear down and performance mods on the build up. only to get shot down by a spun bearing after a 7000 rpm drift. ooops but yeah the new ones are slow as shit and weigh more than most camaros. thew only advantage was the older ones with the turbos and independent rear suspetion and weigh not a lot and after weight re3duction weigh as little as a civic lol but rear wheel drive and 370 ponies for under 2000$ and that includes the other 2 cars

sorry bout that theres a car in my area that has a exaust on uit and it sounds decent for a 6 (no offence to the cylinder impaired )
and on the super charger note get gigantic injectors and 30 psi of boost and even a plymoth reliant can do a 10 sec quarter mile ( could you imagine a k car that smokes almost all street cars lol) but any way you take a naturally asperated engine (or any uncharged engine) and boost it 14.7 psi and have the intake charge the same temp before and after and the hp is literally doubled but you need many mods to get to that point and it would definitly be faster from that lol

now i will agree on that, dont get me wrong till this day i would get up on a 300z 80's or even better a fairlady.....i just think it wasnt stepping up when they droped the new 350 i expected alot more from that car, it really should have had 400hp from the factory (yeah im sure alot of people wished for that)
