ok guys i have a problem just got a 97 blazer installed like a pep boys intake just to get my by for now i took off the old one and just slid the new one over the metal piece where the old air box connected and tightended it i reallly hope i installed it correct and do i need like a hose to go on to that metal piece and then the aire filter
im sorry i no this sounds extremely dumb but i am 17 this is my first car and i really want to learn allot but someone told me i couls seize the motor because i need like a sepreate 'little air filter' or my motor will seize so im trying not to drive the truck

did your intake come with a tube, or did you just put the filter on the MAF sensor?

Are you talking about the little black tube that connects to the top of your intake? I think that's just an oil breather tube, you can get a breather filter for like 10 bucks at pepboys.

Are you talking about the little black tube that connects to the top of your intake? I think that's just an oil breather tube, you can get a breather filter for like 10 bucks at pepboys.

theres a black tube that from the engine to a little metal thing with like wires attached to it i attached the air filter directly to that and tightened it up and thats it is that good?

I don't think it's a problem to do that. Usually people buy kits with a tube and a two couplers to make some space between the filter and the metal thing with the wires (mass air flow sensor).
You're motor wont seize by any means, but I would worry about the filter falling off and damaging the $300 MAF sensor or something else.

i think i connected the intak edirectly to the maf sensor is that bad?

no, thats correct, the mass airflow sencor (maf) is there to tell the moter how much air is comming in, there should also be an iat (intake air temperature) sencor right behind the maf, both are needed
